Even though, I'm not a web developer who runs 10 websites nor am I earning money through installing WP, designing websites, setting up web hosting, I am the one that started looking for a web hosting provider to set up a site for myself to host my portfolio web. Below are the list of features I liked and disliked about hosting service of Godaddy.
· Value - Incredible. As everyone probably knows already, GoDaddy has the cheapest for everything most of the time. I signed up my business web hosting via affiliate link and it only costed me $1 for a month, for the 1st year. You will not find anything for this price for the rich features.
· Uptime - 99.9%, which is today's industry standard. I've heard some worse things about GoDaddy's uptime when I was researching and before I purchased. But from my own experience, I haven’t had any downtimes at all. I can say, it is like almost none (I use softwares to check my web's uptime). Simply, downtime variesfrom server to server. But I haven’t experienced any downtime. Maybe I'm just lucky or that’s the way Godaddy does things.
· Features –almost great… GoDaddy uses cPanel - however, their own customized version of cPanel. If this is your first time purchase for web hosting, I don’t think you'll care since you will get used to it pretty quickly. I did try the standard cPanel but I find that I actually liked GoDaddy's version much better. It looks more organized to me and simpler to find things.
· Support – Incredible. There were two occasions I am impressed with their support. Once,I have to use Live Chat the first time was because I got myself banned from server due to brute force attempts, and the second was when I misconfigured my server which is Imap. On both occasions their support team went above and beyond. My website uptime has been increased to 100% thus far unless I've rebooted the server on my own and I love the fact that unlike the other web hosting companiesGoDaddy gave me 2 dedicated ip's instead of one and their team provided me with a free SSL certificate for that year.
All in all, I am impressed and have no plans to move my web from the godaddy network anytime soon.
